Alas, alas
Splendid is the grass,
yet with a heavy heart, through it I pass.

Beware, beware!
Dare not to stare,
in the eyes of ivy and tulip so fair!

Away, away,
from sorrows I sway
and a gentle breeze, reminds me it's Today!

All right, all right,
I stand no fight,
when birds sing so loud,
and leaves reach such height.

In the ocean of the scents,
when harmony over harmony ascends,
and beauty beyond beauty surpass,

I float, I soak, I sink,
in the splendor of the grass.
